Over the next 10 years the demand for services provided by the Aged and Community sector will continue to increase at a significant rate.

This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community)

This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing.

Assessment tasks including assignments in addition to workshops will be required to complete this qualification. This course is deemed as full-time study.

Electives have been selected to provide a qualification with a specialisation in individual support (Ageing, Home and Community) and are relevant to the work outcome and potential role.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work placement as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency. Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) qualification. Participants will also undertake HLTAID003 Provide first aid.

Duration
The course is 6 months in class plus five weeks of work placement which is a compulsory component of this qualification and will occur in 2 blocks. Face to face workshops occur two days each week.

Entry Requirements
Whilst there are no pre-requisites stated in the training package the sector requires you to achieve clear Police and Working with Vulnerable People checks prior to commencement of work placement, and is arranged by Foresite Training or your Employment Services provider.

You must have a genuine desire to work in this sector. A Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment is required to develop a support plan if necessary.
